Concussion has become a ‘hot topic’ largely due to high profile sports injuries and accumulating research evidence demonstrating the potential serious consequences when injuries are poorly managed. As a result there has been a great deal of research and development in the management of sports related concussions.
Concussion or mild traumatic brain injury associated with non-sporting accidents results from a similar impact to the brain, is common and can have a significant impact on everyday function. The assessment and rehabilitation of individuals following non-sports injuries has, however, lagged behind that of sports injuries.
We apply the knowledge gained from sports injuries to non-sporting injuries. This enables us to provide early diagnosis and targeted rehabilitation and maximises the potential for positive outcomes.
We use the latest evidence based tools to assess:
The process allows us to identify the basis of the presenting problems in a cost effective manner and reduces the need for unnecessary and expensive expert reports.
Our experienced clinicians provide targeted treatment based on symptoms and are able to track recovery and provide guidance with regard to return to work, school, college or other activities.
